16 The Rookery is a blue plaque cottage. It was built around 1805 by John Cockshott, these back-to-back cottages were a home to hand-loom weavers. Across the end of the blocks was a first-floor loomshop and old lavatories, half of which still exist today.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower. It has a well equipped kitchen with small seating area.
All our cottages are dog friendly (max 2 large dogs) and have the usual amenities you would expect from cooking equipment to towels, robes hair dryers, Wifi, washing facilities, TV, games, books and more.

3 George Street was recorded as 'The Old School' and was built by Anthony Ward. The town book had, from 1690 – 1744, entries made for payment for repairs to the building and for payment of a school master. The school started life as a single storey two roomed cottage but another storey was added in 1805 when the school moved into the upper room. Mr Lee was the last teacher in charge before the move to North Street.

133 Main St is a luxuriously renovated eighteenth century, two bedroom cottage which was part of the old sweet shop. The story is that they served the 'Most famous ice cream in Yorkshire'. Now owned by Stephen Noblett who's family history is in Everton Mints - quite fitting!
